It is all a horrible tragedy but I am convinced that all of the outside manipulation has made it worse than it had to be. West and East have both kept the pot from burning itself out for 80 years or so. We keep the heat on high and let it boil over occasionally but make sure that there is still plenty of fuel and plenty of liquid so that it can all happen again and again and again.
With the acknowledgement that there are no good guys and that whatever happens will be a tragedy, can we just let them get on with it and finish up? Honestly, I think that most of the Arabs have figured that out which is why they won't accept any refugees or give much assistance. They have realised that they could more or less live with Israel or with Palestine, what nobody can live with is this continually festering sore.
