What we're seeing in hyper-intellectualism without a grounding story and mythos holding anything together. It's a potpourri of abstract concepts that are worn down to a husk, not correlating with anything tangible anymore.

Combine this with every institutional myth-making and authoritative apparatus becoming utterly unhinged from the very people they are meant to serve, you're left with a cynical people who have been fooled so many times they dare not believe in anything.

The reason the alien things gets not traction is because:

- It's old and has been mentioned with few updates since the 1960's

- The people promulgating it are not trusted.

- The truth or falsity of the claim will not impact their life one bit.

I basically concur - this is why I think it is truly of value to all humans to get their hands dirty in the soil literally!

Well put. Although about the alien thing--even if it might not impact people's lives directly, where's the curiosity? Not saying everybody needs to look into this necessarily, there are other interesting things, but it still strikes me as a bit strange. Calenders arguably affect people's lives even less than whether aliens in cahoots with our governments :)

I think a simpler explanation may just be exhaustion. A lot of people are so mentally spent from trying to keep up with the endless circus that they have just resigned themselves to passively shrugging off even the most dramatic and impactful news that comes out.

Probably confusion, plus the loss of an internal compass. It's not that they necessarily *have* to be interested in this or that topic, but they have to grow an internal state that allows them to take decisions as to what registers and what not. Just tuning out everything except some narrow field is not an option, and neither is to react to everything the machine feeds us.

I think about of people are still trying to recalibrate their internal compass.

In the mix. But what of all the energy that still goes into the old divide and conquers - like right Vs left? If anything has been exhausted, surely that has...

We're being pushed, faster and faster to let go but depending on where our current identity exists - where it snags - we don't let go easy.

I see many preferring to hold tight to the old world and their identity in it, then recognize the larger themes already at our doorstep which shred them both.

Nice.

Related to much of it.

A reality is shredding and as you note, only gunna pick up speed.

What used to take a life time, is happening in years, even months, maybe soon - days.

Perhaps we intuit there really is nothing to get to cozy with since it'll be old news in 5 minutes and we have to let it go away? And who will we be when this last 'rolled out' reality is done and dusted? That's even more interesting to me.

Thanks - enjoyed that.

There is no doubt that "flux" is over the top, but I put forth that the level of flux lately is for lack of a better word:

unnatural

~

So, I suspect, nature has a way of dealing with flux over the top.

~

I have a caveat for that - it is this.

It could be that the time for a metaphorical "quantum jump" is upon the human species - what that means if it is so, I don't know - but if it is so - what it means is this:

Now or never time.

I pray for resolution and I sense it as a possibility - and then it could be some good ideas long stifled have a moment in the sun - and then - the future beckons I reckon.

"...but I put forth that the level of flux lately is for lack of a better word: unnatural."

Ah, well, yes agree here. How could it be otherwise in an unnatural world? In a manufactured reality. If everything not 'real' is what's shredding, dissolving and being seen through?

I think this is the case. Including all the adaptations we made in order to live here. That's going too. Uncomfortable. But we can - and some of will - realign once again to nature, our own natures and reimagine this world.

I'm very optimistic and also expect far more difficultly. A positive future - not easy - beckons.

Thanks.

Yup. Non-linear progress, in piddles, puddles, and downpours.

I've also contemplated the deep wyrdness of the way the language of drugs wove its way so deeply into our rebel tongue. It's as if Pharma has infected even its sworn enemies at some fundamental level.

Y'all can keep your pills. I'm too busy getting sober

Expand full comment

There is no such thing as being "too busy getting sober" - I mean - get sober if you need to, but don't be busy with it - that is contradictory in terms.

If one wants to be sober then that is a personal choice - to be too busy to pay attention means you are weary with life - so don't conflate terminology please.

As things become ever stranger, people cling to the trivial, passionately controversializing it in an attempt to focus on what they can understand.

Hence, "ignore those UFOs, that tacky softcore porn calendar is an outrage!"

Expand full comment

Yes, as everything becomes stranger, some kind of strong internal foundation that helps you decide what to engage with is even more needed. Mostly, people (including me, more often than I care to admit tbh), are just thrown around by the emotional energy going this or that way. Not good.

Yes, I'm no more immune to it than anyone else. This essay was a welcome reminder to take a step back periodically and refocus on the bigger picture, what really matters.

Hello Luc

Just getting caught up on some reading, and this was spot-on hilarious. By chance, (synchronicity?) a movie channel over here in Japan played Ghostbusters and its follow up last night. Wow, just realized that the 1st of the two is now 40 years old, and is as part of the cultural landscape here in Japan as in the states. But the reason I mentioned those movies was because of an hilarious dead-pan alien scene ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbX1TwpC1KU.

Cheers, and a late Happy New Year from Japan.

Thank you Steve, 40 years eh. Didn't know it was so popular in Japan. A late happy new year to you too from France!

I recently had a good friend send me The Annual Energy Forecast from Lee Harris which I watched and more importantly listened to despite not having any expertise or any internal or external gifts in these areas, it still opened my mind to a new perspective.

My main takeaway was Lee’s 2024 overriding message of what to expect and prepare for this year of 2024. It is forecast to be a year of strength and purpose on an individual level and a year of unexpected shifts and revolution for the world. Important to us to be prepared to take on 2024 we must purge all that was negative, painful, toxic, hurtful, harmful, that happened in our lives in 2023 which is obviously different for every person which began last November I think he said and can continue up until the end of February this year as this purge also happens differently at different times for different people.

I feel a new sense of calm since listening to Lee and my purge began shortly after and is still ongoing, I have lots of crap to work through and let go of, changes to make, relationships to let go of, while forming a new family of likeminded friends who like and respect me in their place.

Life is hard enough already externally I am done with taking on more abuse for speaking my truths and being called a conspiracy theorist and looked down upon by my relatives and others who are still completely brainwashed and stuck perhaps on purpose in the matrix. I want and need to have supportive likeminded people around me now since the world has gone mad and is forecast to grow madder still with so many zombies walking around acting as if everything was STILL perfectly normal and nothing has CHANGED while 20 million people have died in the world since the rollout of the jibby jab with millions more irreparably injured and damaged and with young people dropping dead all around you considered to be the ‘new’ normal. People were lied to by their own governments so it is wrong to blame and sit in judgement of the people when it is their governments who should be judged and held criminally responsible.

"Where the dreaming of a better world—a world of Truth, Respect, Courage, Deep Love, Peace, Goodness, True Understanding, and Vanquishing of Evil?", those are resting next to the degenerated carcass of the Balanced Human Being that lost Tension a while back.

We sure don't want that for us!

When the village is targeted for destruction five different ways, in order to save it five different ways, it is hard to know what is sane or serious. And so my navel is looking more real than a lot of things.

The second part is generally in jest. My profession, renewable energy, is one of the forces with a bead on the village.

In the image presented there was a portion of the trunk seems to be growing directionally leading to parallel lines of bark. That was the "right" side of the image per the viewer's perspective.

On the left side seems as if things went a bit different - maybe awry, maybe not - depends on much not revealed in the image.

Either way, I agree tension - friction it could be called as well - is part of living in the real world.

If you think about it "at bottom" tension is basically one force acting upon another and what that means is there is NOT "one force to rule them all".....so to speak - tension is needed - tension leads to resolution sometimes, but not always....sometimes it leads to extinction I reckon. Regardless - tension is part of life - as is friction.

By the way, I found the book I lost and I'm still reading the Forest Passage by Junger, but I'll get to the end of it in 24.

I think about this. I don't believe it's about inferior or superior.

Unvaxxed made a superior choice and vaxxed an inferior; so in that context, yes. But we can't extend that to the actual subject of their/our being-ness and subsequent worth or value.

Two different things.

We can't see the bigger contexts from where life is generated, so, for me, best not to make those kinds of claims.

But I think I get your point and the uncomfortableness that goes with.
