Some further reflection on the ability of certain civilizational models to be identified, and then supposedly transcended through mere identification. There's a line from C.S. Lewis in the Abolition of Man about the nature of analytical understanding to be a basilisk, that "kills whatever it sees, and sees only by killing", that's stuck with me ever since. Feels very in line with your observation about the necessity of the audience to be hypnotized for a hypnosis to succeed, that to declare something as a model is in some sense to reduce it to mere model, a creation of man that can be dispensed of by conscious rejection of one trajectory, one vision, in favor of another. This narrative-driven creature business gets a little silly at times I must say.
Yeah sorry for having been absent for a while. Had some other things on my mind, and also suffered from a particular form of writer's block where I can't bring myself to make a point because my mind keeps writing alternative essays arguing a different point. Usually a sign that I'm not ready to say something because it doesn't feel truthful enough.
This aligns with my view of human free will as fractal. In each moment (t=0) your freedom is very restricted and you cannot affect the next moment (t=1) at all but only anticipate it. You can at t=0 affect t=2 a little by leaning into or leaning against your inclinations, either accelerating them or changing them. At t=0, however, you have a very large influence on t=100 as a small change held out for a long time produces a much larger variation.
On the note of ideas=spirits and the interior world affecting the exterior (or perhaps not being buffered at all) there is much more to be discovered and it seems that many of us are closing in on similar ideas simultaneously.
Fine piece! There is no evidence known to me that human nature can or does change...And in the grand scheme of things, why should it? Since we favor our children and friends, elite overproduction is the most natural thing in the world...and since human societies always over-exploit available natural resources, and the climate goes through long cycles of change, societies based on an existing environment will crash and burn....But it isn't predetermined when this will happen..Hence Elon's urgency toward establishing a colony on Mars...Nor do I think there is anything wrong with all this.....
I was destined to read this, and count myself lucky. There is no word I know of in English for having good things happen to you, other than this idea of the Gods or Fortune done it. So I will stick with lucky.
And to your point, being aware of The Plan, the forces, just awareness, lets us better choose our response. If the word choose means anything (who is doing the choosing?)
The Unseen World is going to have a say. This world, this earth, is home to many beings, spirits, entities and travelers. We, the manifested, would be wise allow for their expression. It won’t be an op-ed but, for those who have done their work, it will be a clear message.
A provocative piece, one where an intellectual theory, a science based explanation of consciousness is, as in the scientific community, a kind of odd fit, yet somehow perceived as the key factor in the mix.
I write, but I don't personally believe that dialogue necessarily convinces anyone of anything. I view dialogue as an integrating force, a way to make an experience a functional force in life. This, I see as the primary force of change, and it is individual, and on the individual level.
At issue with the current subject-object encapsulation, and materialist reduction is an underlying, stifling abrahamic world view that insists on the collective, while providing narcissism, the ego as the alternative.
If one chooses, or is so indoctrinated that they cannot relinquish abrahamic contrived dualities, then there can be no understanding of finer forces.
I find it endlessly sad, but the result of abrahamic thinking is in the end, its own extinction, and this is what the world is grappling with, in my view.
Yes and the Orange Oaf who is a religiously and culturally illiterate nihilistic barbarian is the leading edge vector of our looming extinction, and not the catalyst for a bright new age.

There is no plan. It is all just pattern patterning - fractals in every direction.
Who or what is in charge?
Countless beings and forces both visible and invisible are causing things to happen.
This is a cause-and-effect cosmos.
The pattern of the cosmos is itself, the totality of all causes and effects.
There is no single anything in charge.
Every thing is in charge.
Every one - or every space-time-located, and thus, apparently separate point of view is in charge, both as cause and effect, moment to moment in space-time.
Every one is having an effect on all others, and every one is suffering from the effects of all others.

What if History, or part of history, was following not a divine plan, or was simply the result of Mind going forward, but a plan that was very much conceived and carried out by a certain group of people. That these people have and have had a very clear understanding of group psychology and has been playing the same game over and over again? We can go around in circles about the nature of human civilization or Darwin or predestination, while the whole time this group is just playing us in the background. If this turns out to be the case, I personally should feel pretty stupid about all those nice philosophical theories....
No human group can predict and understand human behavior to any degree necessary to carry out long-term plans. Not saying it's impossible such groups exist, but if so, it's not the whole story by far.
That is quite a bold statement, that no human group can predict and understand human behavior to any extent necessary. Either you might mean that there are non-human groups that do (which would be even bolder), or you just cannot fathom any group or groups with a sufficiently long term plan. In that case, I would urge you to read Father Paul Kramer's 'The Mystery of Iniquity'. https://fatima.org/the-mystery-of-iniquity/. If you can look around his very Catholic way of interpretation, he did do thorough research (between 1984 and the year it was published in 2010) and I personally think he is might just be onto something.
One of your best. Can't believe I missed this, the first time around.
Thanks man!
As the cool kids have been saying, "we can just think things."
Yes we can. And as a bonus, we can even think things we don't agree with, or which are incomplete. Underrated concept.

Great essay. The notion of the universe as consciousness is criminally underused today.
Nice to see you posting here again, after 3 month break.
A very thought-provoking text, thank you.
